An Accra Circuit Court has convicted an unemployed man for robbery. Prosper Dzokah, admitted the offence and was convicted on his own plea but the sentence was deferred to Monday, September 8, 2020.

Prosper Dzokah, admitted the offence and was convicted on his own plea but sentence was deferred to Monday, September 8, 2020.
Meanwhile, he has been remanded into police custody.
Police Inspector Eric Pobee told the Court presided over by Mr Emmanuel Essandoh that Madam Gladys Ashie is the complainant in the case.
He said the complainant resided at Teshie Penny whilst Dzokah lived at Mannet Tobinco lane.
On July 9, 2020, at about 2345hours, the complainant had closed from work and she alighted from a bus at Ebenezer Junction when the convict, who was hiding in the dark, robbed her at knife point.
Prosecution said Dzokah took her handbag containing a Sumsung mobile phone valued GH¢ 700.00, a cash of GH¢ 70.00, voter’s identity card, a name tag, an umbrella as well as a purse and run with the booty.
Inspector Pobee said the next day, at about 0100 hours, luck eluded Dzokah, who in an attempt to rob another female at Trinity School Junction-Teshie, was arrested by Sergeant Emmanuel Oduro when he chanced on Dzokah.
He said a search on him revealed Madam Ashie’s mobile phone and her voter’s ID card, adding that the police officer called the phone number of the complainant’s brother to inform him of the development.
Inspector Pobee said together with the complainant and her brother, Dzokah was sent to the police station at 0200hours.
During investigations, he led the police to Ebenezer Junction, where he hid the handbag after emptying the content.
