Bawumia Is The 'Butt Of Public Jokes' . . . He Has No Credibility - Mahama’s Aide

Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has been chastised by a leading member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Lawyer Edudzi Tamakloe for hiiting back at the latter's flagbearer over a social media he recently shared.

The Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, earlier this week, described as divisive, comments by former President Mahama that sought to liken President Akufo-Addo and his clansmen as “Akyem Sakawa Boys”.

Addressing a durbar of Chiefs and people of Gushegu on Sunday, Dr. Bawumia expressed surprise and disgust at the former President’s comments, saying Ghana is a united country which has moved beyond the kind of divisive and tribal politics by the former President.

“The recent utterances of John Mahama referring to Akyem Sakawa boys; how do you take a whole tribe and say they are sakawa. How do you do that?,” Dr. Bawumia said.

But to the private legal practitioner, who was speaking on OkayFM’s 'Ade Akye Abia' Morning Show, the Vice President only jumped into the discussion because he is seeking to make himself relevant on the political scene again.

“This is a Vice President who today has become a butt of public jokes; completely not relevant as far as Ghana’s politics. People don’t take him serious whenever he speaks. This is a Vice President who goes about to do public delivery or whatever and less than 24 hours, nobody talks about it. He is a discredited person,” he slammed.

Lawyer Edudzi Tamakloe wondered why Dr Bawumia forego to touch on the economy during his campaign trail, and only trumpeted tribalism.

“Why is he no longer talking about public debt? In all the campaigns he is doing at the northern part of the country, have you seen him talk about public debt again? This is because he has no credibility,”
he indicated.

“He told us that he once worked as a Deputy Governor of Bank of Ghana and that we have money in the country. Since he came into office as a Vice President, within the space of three years, they have taken our public debt from 120 billion Ghana Cedis to 250 billion Cedis,” he added.
