Mahama Most Ineffective And Poorest Leader Under 4th Republic - Nana Akomea

Managing Director of State Transport Company (STC), Nana Akomea has dismissed suggestions by members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) that President Akufo-Addo has underperformed as leader.

To him, labelling the current President as a "poor leader" is "speculative" and based on mere assumptions.

Nana Akomea was reacting to assertions by a leading member of the opposition party, Felix Kwakye Ofosu on Asempa FM’s Ekosii sen show.

The former NPP Director of Communications, who described the NDC's claims as factually incorrect, pointed out that the tag of a poor leader best suits former President John Dramani Mahama instead.

To say that President Akufo-Addo is a poor leader is speculation. But let me show you who is a poor leader which is not a speculation. Going by the results of the 2016 elections, former President John Mahama's government from 2012 to 2016 of which Felix Kwakye Ofosu was part of it, is the poorest government in the history of Ghana in the fourth republic, simply by the results of the election,” he argued.

He stressed that by losing the 2016 election by 10 percentage points, a feat unprecedented in the annals of the country's political history, makes Mr Mahama the most ineffective leader under the fourth republic.

This is not speculation, what I am about to say is based on facts relating to the 2016 election. Which President in the fourth republic has lost an election by 10 percentage points, by 1 million votes? Which President in the Fourth Republic?”

“Former President Rawlings contested again in 1996, Former President Kufuor contested again 2004 and what were their results? When former President Mahama was going to contest again, what were his results? He was rejected by 1 million votes and if you look at it in percentage terms, he lost by 10 percent. Which President under the fourth republic has lost by that margin?”

“So, we are talking about a poor leader based on facts and not speculation, then it is former President John Dramani Mahama and that is my short answer to that question that Akufo-Addo is a poor leader and this one, I am basing it on the results of the 2016 elections”, he stated.

He, however, threw down the gauntlet to the oppsition NDC to refute his claims with contrary facts.

If you can, come and dispute it,” he dared.
