The Administrator for the Ghana Educational Trust Fund (GETfund), Richard Boadu has shot down claims that the ruling government has abandoned projects inherited from the Mahama-led administration.

It has never been our intention not to continue with any contract or project inherited from the previous administration . . . no project has been abandoned," he told Kwami Sefa Kayi in an interview on Peace FM's morning show 'Kokrokoo'.



E-blocks

The opposition NDC has been criticizing government for abandoning the E-Blocks; Community Day Schools started by former President John Mahama.

The government on the other hand has denied these claims.

Mr Richard Boadu says all the E-blocks have been worked on except "33 of them which were projects below 30 percent of completion . . . we've not abandoned them."

According to him, “For the E-blocks; from 2015 to 2016, only 7 (World Bank projects) were completed. Get Fund and the Ministry of Education embarked on 22 e-block projects making a total of 29. However, between 2017 and 2019, that is what we inherited, we paid for it and for that, Get Fund has completed 13. So it is false to claim that the E-blocks have been abandoned."
