We Don’t Want A "Maintenance President" - Kwamena Duncan Jabs Mahama

The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) have been going back and forth on the free SHS policy.

The NPP has been criticizing the NDC for making a u-turn after they strongly condemned and spoke against the policy in the lead-up to the 2016 general elections.

The opposition party has however denied making a u-turn and has further promised in their People's manifesto to make the policy better than it already is.

However, the Central Regional Minister, Kwamena Duncan contributing to a panel discussion on Peace FM's morning show 'Kokrokoo' had this to say:

"As a beneficiary of the free SHS policy, you should have been the first person to champion its course but in 2012 we saw what he did. The luckiest person all his life opposed it . . . you don't want to have sex to even get pregnant and go through all the pains and agony of pregnancy . . . and now that the baby has arrived, you are telling me that you are the better person to take care of this child? Do you think we want a maintenance President?" Kwamena Duncan rhetorically asked.
