NPP Supporters Have Started Donating To Pay For Akufo-Addo’s Presidential Filing Fee - Evans Nimako Discloses

The Director of Elections for the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Evans Nimako, has disclosed that some benevolent party supporters have started contributing towards the payment of GHS100,000 as the filing fee for their flagbearer, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

“We are overwhelmed by the support from some party members,” he said in an interview with NEAT FM’s morning show 'Ghana Montie'.

The Electoral Commission (EC) has announced that anybody who wants to be on its ballot paper as a Presidential Candidate in the 7th December 2020 polls will have to pay a deposit of GHS100,000 as a filing fee.

Also, parliamentary aspirants are to pay GHS10,000 as filing fee.

Mr. Evans Nimako had earlier said on Okay FM’s 'Ade Akye Abia' Morning Show that his party will pay for the filing fees announced by the Electoral Commission ahead of the December 7 polls for all of its aspirants.

According to him, the entire strength of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is behind President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo with the conviction that the majority of Ghanaians who registered to vote in the upcoming general election will give him his second term to continue with the good policies he has commenced.
