The Atwima Kwanwoma constituency is one of the biggest constituencies in the Ashanti Region
It is considered a stronghold of the New Patriotic Party (NPP)
NPP Parliamentary candidates have occupied this seat in the past 6 elections: 1996-2016.
The current Member of Parliament for this constituency is Dr Kojo Appiah-Kubi. He however lost to Nana Kwaku Owusu Acheampong during the NPP primaries.
