Bantama is a constituency in the Ashanti Region with a huge voter population.

It’s considered a safe seat for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) with victory in the past 6 elections; from 1996 to 2016.

Parliament

In the parliamentary front, the NDC has only occupied this seat once and that was only because the NPP boycotted the elections in 1992.

The incumbent MP, Daniel Okyem Aboagye who won in 2016 lost in an NPP primary to Francis Asenso-Boakye.
