Mahama’s Comment About Voter Exhibition Exercise Shows A Sign Of Defeat - Subin MP

Deputy Minister of Works and Housing, Hon Eugene Boakye Antwi says the comment from the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) does not come to him as a surprise as the leadership has never liked the idea of new voters’ register.

According to him, the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) is bastardizing the provisional voter register at the least opportunity they get simply because they don’t like the new voter register.

Speaking on Okay FM’s 'Ade Akye Abia' Morning Show, the Member of Parliament(MP) for Subin Constituency in the Ashanti Region said that the exercise of the NDC to discredit the voter register is an act in futility as the CI126 has been passed and the register is done.

“This register, whether the NDC likes it or not, it is the same register that will be used for the 2020 general elections and so if they have any issue with it, they should engage the EC in a very profound manner and resolve it amicably,” he said.

"The NDC should engage the EC in a more profound manner; they should present the EC with evidence of their claims . . . "

To him, the way the NDC is presenting issues in relation to the voter register is a sign of defeat, claiming that the NDC is making noise because they are about to lose the 2020 general election.

“It is a sign of defeat; NDC is staring defeat in the face. They know that the achievement of this government, Akufo-Addo administration, they cannot beat us in any election. We are going into this election with one of the most credible electoral roll and they know that it will not augur well with the NDC”.

“. . Nobody is going to compel the NDC to accept defeat, the figures will make them accept the defeat. When Mahama lost by 1 million votes, did he say he will not go?” he rhetorically asked.
