Kweku Baako Pays Tribute To Rawlings Over Mother's Death

Editor-in-Chief of New Crusading Guide, Abdul Malik Kweku Baako has extended his condolences to former President Jerry John Rawlings and his family over the death of his mother.

Mr. Rawlings' mother, Madam Victoria Agbotui, passed away at the age of 101.

Tributes have been trickling in from leadership and members across the political divide to the bereaved family.

The President of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo paid a visit to the home of the former President to commiserate with him.

Contributing to a panel discussion on ''Kokrokoo'' on Peace FM, Mr. Baako seized the moment to also pay his tribute to Mr. Rawlings saying ''I will use this platform (it is a big one) to express my condolences to Rawlings and the bereaved family. I think it's the right thing to do''.

He also took the opportunity to address his differences with Rawlings stating his problem with the latter is only political.

"It has nothing to do with personal thing. And I've said it here, he has a perfect sense of humor. He's a fantastic gentleman if you interact with him. It is his politics I detest, simple. That one doesn't mean I should hate him."

On the question of whether Kweku Baako will visit the Rawlings' home to personally condole the family, Kweku Baako replied; who am I?''
