Election 2020: Avoid The Temptation To Become Political Stooges - Prof. Agyekum To Security Services

Dean of the School of Performing Arts of the University of Ghana, Legon, Professor Kofi Agyekum, popularly known as Opanyin Agyekum has cautioned security services not to misconduct themselves during the December 7 polls.

Ghana will, on Monday 7th December, 2020, hold her Presidential and Parliamentary elections.

Currently, seventeen (17) Presidential candidates have filed their nominations to contest the President seat in hope of defeating the sitting President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo who is seeking a second term.

As it's left with 53 days to the D-day, Opanyin Agyekum is offering an advice to the security services in providing security for Ghanaians.

According to him, they should execute their duties in the spirit of selflessness and also avoid the temptation of being manipulated by politicians.

"Our Police and soldiers should be led by truth and a selfless spirit. They shouldn't allow themselves to be induced with money and also avoid the temptation to involve themselves in politics," Opanyin Agyekum said on Peace FM's 'Kokrokoo'.

He also called on the security services to enlist more recruits to assist with providing security to Ghanaians before, during and after the elections.
