Organize Your Own Award Scheme And Give Houses & Cars - Arnold 'Shades' Ofori Amponsah

Entertainment Pundit and writer, Arnold Asamoah Baidoo has thrown shade at veteran highlife musician Samuel Ofori Amponsah, also known as “Mr All 4 Real” over the latter's recent comment regarding awards schemes in Ghana.

Ofori Amponsah is quoted as saying he won't attend the Ghana Music Awards again because he feels the artistes are cheated while the organizers enrich themselves under the guise of awarding the artistes.

According to the former Pastor, “the organisers of the awards make a lot of money and I think the artiste of the year should be given a two-bedroom apartment”.

“On that night alone you are going to take about 20 billion and you will give me an object made of wood. So later, when I realised they were given wooden trophies, I said to myself I don’t have to work for woods,"
he further said in an interview on Atinka FM.

Ofori Amponsah also stressed the awards organizers should gift the awardees a house and car in addition to the plaque they give the recipients.

“I think we, musicians should come together on this, and no one will go [to the awards]. If they cannot give winners two-bedroom or a car, we won’t go. I think they were fooling us with the wood. At first, we were so enthusiastic about the woods but now we are not.''

Reacting to Ofori Amponsah's assertions, Arnold Asamoah decided to school the musician on the significance of the award schemes.

Arnold opined that Ofori Amponsah has got it all wrong about the reason for awarding the musicians and stated the awards are necessary for the musicians to build a rich portfolio.

Citing award events like the Grammys and the Golden Globe Awards among others, the entertainment analyst held that there are lots of benefits that the recipients derive from award schemes which don't come in the form of a house or car but earns them prestigious deals that they may not have had if they were not awarded.

He posited that the recipients of the awards should focus on the value of the awards that complement their music career.

Speaking on Peace FM's ''Entertainment Review'', Arnold jabbed Ofori Amponsah telling him to ''organize his own awards scheme and buy a house and car for the award recipients''.
