Annor Dompreh, Nana B Shake Nsawam

The Principal streets of Nsawam in the Eastern Region on Sunday were flooded with supporters and sympathizers of the ruling New Patriotic Party led by the Incumbent Member of Parliament for the area and also the Parliamentary candidate, Frank Annor Dompreh who converged at Adogyiri to embark on his much-anticipated health walk.

The health walk which recorded a massive turnout graced by Henry Nana Boakye, the National Organiser, the Regional, constituency and polling station executive was aimed at encouraging members to keep fit and stay healthy in preparations towards entering the active campaign season for the December polls.

Thousands of the party members step out to demonstrate in one way or the other their love and appreciation for the NPP Government led by Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

Frank Annor Dompreh, addressing the teeming youth after the walk described the forthcoming elections as a herculean task and in their bid to increase their votes organized a health walk in the area.

According to him, historically, when a president is seeking reelection the vote normally drops and is of the view they are determined to change that history.

Mr Dompreh explaining why he organized the health walk said, “We are beginning to energize our base and also reach out particularly because the numbers we have in this constituency is amazing. We are now second in the Eastern Region in terms of the voting population, we use to be forth. It used to be New Juaben South, Nkawkaw Kade and then Nsawam but now its New Juaben South, Nsawam, Nkawkaw and Kade”

He continued that, “The expectations are high and I’m determined to make history and determined to increase the vote. The last time we increased it, it was close to 9,000 and that’s the difference between the NDC and us. this time we want to do a 20,000” he said.

According to him, the NPP has not been able to fulfil all their promises but it’s of the view that significant roads that were abandoned for some years by the NDC are receiving a massive facelift.

Despite that, he has promised to make the area a stronghold for the NPP in the upcoming and subsequent elections.

On health, he said he has been able to build CHIP compounds and also given existing CHIP compounds massive facelift.

Henry Nana Boakye, on his behalf, expressed satisfaction with the party’s campaign so far and has asked the youth to put their act together and double their effort in the ongoing campaign.

He said flagship programs implemented under the NPP such as free SHS, NABCO, One district one factory, planting for food and jobs and others deserve another term of office, saying the NPP is a performing government.

According to him, the NPP has a wealthy message and has implored the youth not to be complacent and campaign massively.

He said it’s disheartening to hear from John Mahama and the National Democratic Congress of promising to build mortuaries for the people in the Zongo’s and is entreating the people not to give Mahama a listening ear.

He affirmed the former president was unable to save the country in dumsor pandemic period and for that matter, calling on Ghanaians not to vote for the NDC.

“The elections are about our future and we need to make sure that the seat is maintained. This is not the time for us to complain about the party. The fact that your demands in the constituency have not been met doesn’t mean you should not participate in the campaign. To be frank, there are challenges everywhere but what we need to do now is to fight for a victory and nothing else”.
