Maintain NPP For More Development - Vice President

Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has urged Ghanaians to give Nana Akufo -Addo and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) another four years to continue with the development projects and policies.

He said Ghana was on the path of accelerated development and it would be disastrous to bring back the NDC to destroy the good policies.

Speaking at Sefwi- Akatieso in the Bia West constituency, as part of his Western North Regional tour, Dr Bawumia said this year's elections were about the future of Ghana, especially the youth.

He called on residents to reject the NDC and vote for the NPP since the NDC had failed to bring the needed development to the area in the 28 years that they have been voting for them.

"Ignore the NDC lies that NPP doesn't like northerners, why will the NPP create Zongo ministry, re-introduce allowances for Arabic teachers when they don't like northerners.".

He asked the NDC to name a single policy the party had brought to Zongo communities and indicated that the NPP was constructing the Bolga-Bawku road which the NDC failed to construct.

Dr Bawumia said the NPP in its first term sent 40 students from Zongo communities to study medicine in Cuba, which is remarkable in the history of Ghana.

The Vice President promised to ensure the construction of an Islamic Senior High school in the area.

He said the Zongo development fund was putting up structures at various Zongo communities across the country.

Nana Adu Gyamfi, Chief of Akatieso, commended the government for the creation of the Western North Region and the implementation of the free senior high school policy, which had reduced the burden on parents, especially cocoa Farmers.

"I remember I had to use my cocoa farm as collateral for seven good years just to get money to pay for my child’s education at the secondary level," he said.

Nana Gyamfi called on the residents to change their voting pattern and vote for the NPP since the NDC had failed them.
