Airbus Vrs Agyapa Saga: Mahama's Hypocrisy Is Unmatched – Mame Yaa Aboagye

The Deputy Communications Director of the NPP, Mame Yaa Aboagye has described former President Mahama as a hypocrite for refusing to comment on the Airbus deal but choosing to attack President Akufo-Addo on the Agyapa deal.

According to her, Mr. Mahama should comment on the Airbus scandal which has implicated a man believed to be his brother.

Former President, John Dramani Mahama says he is disappointed in the Special Prosecutor Martin Amidu for naming him as the ‘Government Official 1'’ in the Airbus scandal.

"I’m disappointed in Martin Amidu for putting that paragraph in his report to equalize things. No financial benefit accrued to me. Not a single dollar...We are talking about a deferred prosecution agreement in which nobody’s names were mentioned and yet there’s been an inference that it must be this person, it must be that person and so legally, he doesn’t even have any basis to proceed, on what basis, on what document is he using for the proceeding?'' he stated.

But reacting to Mr. Mahama's comments, Mame Yaa said; “Hypocrisy is when John Mahama and the NDC attack President Akufo-Addo on Agyapa deal but refused to accept the assessment of Mr. Martin Amidu’s report on the airbus saga”.

She added that Mr. John Mahama and the NDC are doing everything to discredit the Special Prosecutor’s report but discerning Ghanaians know the hypocritical character of the opposition NDC.

To her, Ghanaians will reward the NDC by voting massively for President Akufo-Addo.

Now we all know the truth that Government official one is Mr. John Dramani Mahama and must henceforth be referred as such…how can the NDC accept one report done by the special prosecutor but reject another report by the same special prosecutor…this shows the true colours of the NDC, they are nothing but a hypocrite, pretenders and deceivers which Ghanaians should try and reject in the 2020 election.”

The Special Prosecutor has revealed Mr. John Dramani Mahama as Government official 1 in the Airbus scandal.

According to the Special Prosecutor, Mr. Martin Amidu, “the only reason the former President [Mahama] has not been invited for interrogation (in spite of all threats from some of his followers and lawyers) is the fact that he got himself insurance as the Presidential candidate of the other largest political party in Ghana''.

He further argued that "prudence dictated that the interrogation be held in abeyance during this election season''.
