"Governance Is Not Remedial School" - Sam Pyne Tells Mahama

Ashanti Regional Secretary of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Sam Pyne has rebuked former President and NDC Presidential candidate, John Dramani Mahama over his recent utterances aimed at soliciting votes from Ghanaians.

Mr. John Mahama, during a tour of the Ashanti Region, is said to have told the residents that he will free jailed ''illegal'' small-scale miners when he is re-elected as President.

Also in a separate meeting in the Eastern Region, Mr. John Mahama is quoted as saying even if the ruling New Patriotic Party presents a goat to the residents in the Region, they will vote for the goat.

According to a Ghanaweb publication, the former President made this comment while asking the people to change their voting pattern which always favours the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).

"The NPP believes even if they present a goat with the colours of NPP, the people will still vote for them'', he said.

Addressing Mr. Mahama's campaign messages, Sam Pyne scolded him for saying he will free jailed illegal miners.

Sam Pyne wondered why Mr. Mahama would want to release people involved in an illegal activity.

He also lambasted the former President over his choice of words which he found to be insulting Ghanaians.

Responding further to the numerous things said by Mr. Mahama prior to the December elections including his attempts to discredit the NPP with regard to the infrastructure development by the Akufo-Addo administration, Sam Pyne was convinced that he (Mahama) seeks to come to power to right his wrongs which is impossible.

In a few words for Mr. Mahama, Sam Pyne exclaimed "governance is not remedial school"  for one to fail an exam and rewrite it in hope of passing.

Citing the government's free SHS programme, Planting for Food and Jobs among other achievements, the NPP Regional Chief Scribe stressed Ghana is enjoying a better governance under the regime of Nana Akufo-Addo.

He therefore called on the Ghanaian populace to reject the candidacy of John Dramani Mahama but vote massively for Nana Akufo-Addo to defeat the former President by a landslide victory.

''This is what we call governance.  This is what will uproot poverty. This is what brings comfort. So, we are all giving Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo four more years'', he told Kwami Sefa Kayi on Peace FM's ''Kokrokoo''.
