'Coward' Amidu Has Allowed Corruption To Defeat Him - Namoale 'Mocks' Fmr. SP

Former Member of Parliament(MP) for La Dadekotopon constituency in the Greater Accra Region, Nii Amasah Namoale is wondering why someone who has been portrayed as courageous would take a 'cowardice' move.

He was reacting to the resignation of Special Prosecutor, Martin Amidu in a panel discussion.

The man known as the Citizen Vigilante resigned from his post accusing the ruling government of interfering with his work.

He also indicated in a letter written to the President that he wasn't given the independence and freedom promised him to discharge his official duties.

This move by the Special Prosecutor has received mixed reactions.

Speaking to this on Peace FM's 'The Platform' programme, Nii Amasah Namoale said, "I thought you were courageous . . . insulting and telling lies about Mahama . . . you tried to be bold but your efforts were not good enough".

According to him, now that Martin Amidu is out of the way the government will have all the chance in the world to engage in corruption.

"You have given them the chance to get another prosecutor to massage your messages and present the culprits looking like saints; then you will see your smoothness level," he pointed.

"He has done well as an anti-corruption crusader. He’s been truthful in most of his works except including Airbus in the Agyapa royalties report. He did a very good job but he’s not courageous. He has allowed corruption to defeat him . . . Now corruption will reign supreme," he added.
