Roselyn Ashkar And Felix Owusu Win 'Overall Models Of The Year' At Ghana Models Awards 2020
Ghanaian models Roselyn Ashkar and Felix Owusu have been awarded the Overall Female and Male Models for 2020 respectively at the third edition of the Ghana Models Awards. They received the recognition on Saturday 14th November at the Alisa Hotel in Accra. The Founder of the event Jerry Wonder Sampson, stated that the main purpose of the initiative was to celebrate professional models in Ghana; as well as Ghanaian models doing well abroad.
The Founder and Executive Director of the Ghana Models Awards Jerry Wonder Sampson, on Saturday stated that the Ghana Models Awards is focused on encouraging professional models in Ghana, but is not limited to Ghana. He stated this in his welcome speech at the event. "This scheme seeks to celebrate professional models who are excelling in their field of work in Ghana and may not be of Ghanaian descent; including Ghanaian professional models working abroad", he said.
The biggest awards of the night went to Ghanaian international model Roselyn Ashkar as she received the 'Overall Female Model of the Year' award, and the 'Overall Male Model Award' was received by model Felix Owusu. Both models were described as having excelled exceptionally in the preceding year in the field of modelling with a string of local and international jobs.
The Ghana Models Awards is an annual event and is supported by the Models Association of Ghana, the Creative Arts Council, UNAIDS and the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture.
