APC Will Create Industrial Hubs - Ayariga

The Presidential Candidate of the All People’s Congress (APC), Mr Hassan Ayariga, has promised to create industrial hubs across the country to create jobs for the youth.

He said the industrial hubs would also provide employment avenues for job seekers in neighbouring countries to come to Ghana.

In an interview with the Daily Graphic on his programmes and agenda for Ghana should he win the December 7, 2020 elections, Mr Ayariga said a government of the APC would also provide free education from the basic to the tertiary level.

“No child will be left uneducated in Ghana. We will bring free education from the primary to the tertiary level,” he stressed.

Inclusive policies

Mr Ayariga said his government would also executive inclusive policies such as a welfare system, which would include unemployment benefits, free food and other benefits to cushion the needy.

He said policies that would address the health needs of the people would also be provided.

He said an APC government would construct concrete roads across the country with a routine road maintenance culture to safeguard the safety of motorists, commuters and pedestrians.

“We would come out with four dual carriages that would link cities and towns to curb road traffic accidents that had been claiming lives and destroying properties over the years,” he said.

Chances

Talking about his chances in the polls, Mr Ayariga predicted that the elections would go into a second round with the APC emerging victorious.

He said Ghanaians were yearning for the APC to come and redeem them from the yokes of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

“From the signal I have been picking during my campaign rounds, I know that one of the so- called biggest parties will fall drastically for the APC to sail through to the second round. I cannot tell which of them will fall, but what I know is that the APC will go through the second round and eventually become the winner,” he stated.

Past results

In the 2012 presidential election, Mr Ayariga, who contested on the ticket of the People’s National Convention (PNC), garnered 24,621 votes representing 0.22 per cent of the total votes cast.

He, however, quit the PNC to form the APC after he lost the primaries for the 2016 elections to Dr Edward Mahama.
Mr Ayariga’s attempt to contest the 2016 elections was halted after he was disqualified by the EC.

Change

Mr Ayariga said there had been a clarion call from the electorate for a change from the NPP and the NDC to the APC.

“Many of the advocates of both the NDC and the NPP are clamouring to vote massively for both the APC’s parliamentary candidates and for me as a president. That explains why I am saying that the 2020 presidential elections will be a shocker to many,” he added.
