Electoral Commission Replies NDC After 'Rejecting' Election 2020 Results

Former President John Dramani Mahama has clearly stated that his party; the National Democratic Congress (NDC) will not accept the results of the 2020 election.

“I stand before you tonight unwilling to accept the fictionalized result of a flawed election. There is no doubt that every Ghanaian in this country voted for change. We did so both In the presidential and parliamentary elections.

“I am a staunch believer in the experiment of democracy, a system of governance that allows the ultimate decision-making power to rest in the hands of you the good people of Ghana. We the people who with an eye towards the future we will like for our dear country elect representatives to forward and realize that vision. Government serves at the choice and direction of the people of this great nation” he said at a press conference.

He further averred that they (NDC) will use every legitimate means to address their concerns.

EC Response

Speaking in an interview on Peace FM morning show 'Kokrokoo', Director of Electoral Service for the Electoral Commission, Dr. Serebour Quaicoe advised the former President and the NDC to track the figures if they doubt what the Commission has put out.

"They should check the polling station, constituency and regional results and they will realize that nothing went wrong. They should follow the collation...I have no doubt about the results; so I will entreat them to go over the figures" he told the NDC.
