No Silver Medal For Your Second Position; You Lost, Simple! - Kweku Baako To Mahama

Abdul Malik Kweku Baako has ridiculed Ex-President John Dramani Mahama over the 2020 Presidential elections.

Mr. John Mahama has refused to accept the election verdict on basis that his ballots were stolen to secure victory for the sitting President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

He claims the Electoral Commission (EC) has short-changed him, hence declaring Nana Akufo-Addo as President-elect.

He's therefore called for an independent forensic audit of the election results.

"We will not accept anything short of a declaration of the legitimate results which points to an NDC Parliamentary majority," he asserted.

President Akufo-Addo polled 6,730,587 representing 51.30% to emerge victor while Mr. Mahama, contesting on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), lost by 6,213,182 votes representing 47.35%.

However, this year's elections were a very close contest between the two candidates with Mr. Mahama majorly improving upon his 2016 election figures.

With some people praising Mr. Mahama for closing up the elections by over 500000 votes, seasoned journalist Kweku Baako is least enthused about his performance.

Mr. Baako noted that there is no second prize in the elections, hence what matters to the elections is the first position and in this case, President Nana Akufo-Addo is the gold medal laureate.

"So, I'm surprised somebody wants to suggest that the 500,000 plus means he has done well. You lost, you lost. They won't give you a silver medal. We don't have bronze, silver; what we have here is a gold medal. Finished!'', he stated on Peace FM's "Kokrokoo".
