Angry NPP Communications Officer Pans At 'Draconian' And 'Autocratic' Abronye DC Over Defeat Of 33 MPs

The Bono Regional Chairman of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwame Baffoe aka Abronye DC has been accused of being one of the reasons the party lost 33 MPs in Parliament.

Maxwell Mahama, Communications Officer for the party in the Sunyani East constituency said the "draconian, autocratic and disrespectful ways of Abronye DC caused the downfall of the party in the Bono Region".

The NPP has been trying to unravel the reasons why the party lost a lot of MPs in Parliament. Some have attributed it to complacency; others to the lackadaisical attitude of some of the MPs.

Speaking to this, Maxwell who doubles as an aide to the Bono Regional Minister, Evelyn Ama Kumi Richardson said even though there were a lot of reasons, Abronye DC's personal conduct can't be ruled out.

"He doesn’t heed to advice and his words are divisive . . . you won't believe it; anytime he went out to campaign he is accompanied by a convoy . . . The regional minister on several occasions called him for a meeting and he told her to stay in her lane and that she can’t tell him what to do . . . "

"If you want to preserve your position then you must worship and revere Abronye; MPs are even kowtowing to him; no one is able to call him to order . . . The party is run by the regional Secretary and the Chairman. You dare not speak about them; they will either insult you on social media or according to Abronye report you to the Chief of Staff . . . these are the issues on the ground. The lack of focus and direction in this region led to our defeat. He (Abronye) has no modicum of respect for anybody," he said.

Maxwell Mahama further called on national executives of the party "to put things in order in the Bono region".
