Former Member of Parliament(MP) for Adentan constituency, Yaw Buaben Asamoa says the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) faithful, particularly the Majority in Parliament, should not be afraid of the election of Rt. Hon. Alban Sumana Bagbin as Speaker of Parliament.

Yaw Buaben Asamoa allayed the fears of his party folks stressing Rt. Hon Alban Bagbin has a rich experience in Parliamentary affairs and solid integrity.

He disbelieved that Rt. Hon. Bagbin will, by virtue of his party affiliation, do the bidding of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Hon. Alban Bagbin is the Speaker of the 8th Parliament under the Fourth Republic of Ghana.

He was elected by Members of Parliament on Thursday, January 7, 2021, after the dissolution of the 7th Parliament.

Making his submissions on Peace FM's "Kokrokoo" programme, Yaw Buaben Asamoa told sit-in host Nana Yaw Kesseh that, ''Hon. Bagbin doesn't misconduct himself. We all know him already to be a man of integrity. Also, he has become the father of Parliament. It was Parliament that elected him, not the NDC. It's true that he is a member of the NDC and has stayed in the NDC for a long time but his service to Ghana is unquestionable and I don't believe he is going to change his character now''.
