Dome Market Women, Others Congratulate Sarah Adwoa Safo On Her Appointment As Minister-Designate

The Market women who ply their trade at the Dome Market and their counterparts at the Abokobi Market have congratulated the Member of Parliament for the Dome Kwabenya Constituency, Hon. Lawyer Sarah Adwoa Safo, on her appointment as the Minister-Designate for the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection.

The women also thanked President Akufo-Addo for recognizing the good works and leadership qualities of their Member of Parliament, Hon Sarah Adwoa Safo and rewarding her accordingly.

In separate statements issued on January 25, 2021, and signed by Felicia Karley Amui and Vida Markwei, the Market Queens for Dome and Abokobi Markets respectively, the market women expressed optimism that Hon. Lawyer Sarah Adwoa Safo has the wherewithal to competently steer the affairs of the Gender Ministry in furtherance of its aspirations in order to vindicate the confidence that has been reposed in her by the President.

According to them, Hon Sarah Adwoa Safo, has, at every material time, proven to be a motherly figure, and has consistently demonstrated her unconditional support and compassion to all manner of persons.

This, they said, was her motivation for setting up the Adwoa Safo Foundation (ASF), an NGO that has been at the forefront of providing livelihood support to vulnerable groups in society particularly women and children as well as persons with disability.

To this end, the market women pledged their readiness to offer their unflinching support for the incoming Gender Minister in discharging her mandate, and also expressed confidence that they would have a fruitful working relationship with her outfit.

They further urged the Appointments Committee of Parliament to hasten her vetting and approval process for the President to formally induct her into office.
