Help School Children To Strictly Observe COVID-19 Protocols - Sam Pyne Charges Teachers

Ashanti Regional Secretary of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Sam Pyne has urged teachers to assist their pupils and students to comply with the COVID-19 safety protocols.

As the country's case count keeps increasing, there are worries over the reopening of schools, particularly those at the Kindergarten and lower Primary levels who are in school due to President Nana Akufo-Addo's announcement last month that they return to the classroom.

Some people have appealed to the President to close down Kindergarten and lower Primary schools but the government insists they have activated precautionary measures to keep the school children safe.

However, there are reports of some students having been infected by the viral disease.

This has ignited discussions on whether or not schools should be closed.

To Sam Pyne, there is no need for schools to be closed again but rather the parents and teachers should keep an eagle eye on their children, so they don't flout the protocols for them to expose themselves to the disease.

Speaking on Peace FM's ''Kokrokoo'', Sam Pyne called on the teachers as well as parents to instruct the children to wear nose masks at all times and practice all other protocols to safeguard them.

"You must instruct the child to wear the nose mask when you see him or her not wearing it. Some of us are 'I don't care'; the issue doesn't concern us. But we must realize that, as a teacher in the classroom, the risk of getting infected, if you don't ensure the children do the right thing . . . you should also remember that the community you reside is the same community the child is," he said.
