Opening LGBTQI Office In Ghana Is A Criminal Activity – Foh-Amoani Fumes

Executive Secretary of the National Coalition for Proper Human Sexual Rights and Family Values, Moses Foh-Amoaning says the alleged opening of an office by the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual Transgender and queer Intersex Rights (LGBTQI) movement in Ghana is against the laws of the country.

“Opening such office in Ghana is a criminal activity and won’t be tolerated,” he said in an interview with NEAT FM’s morning show ‘Ghana Montie’.

According to him, Ghana had not signed any international laws permitting the promotion of the LGBTQI in the country - therefore, any attempt by anybody to promote the activities of the group amounted to illegality.

Mr Foh-Amoaning noted that on the contrary, international laws such as the Economic, Cultural, Social and Political Rights of the United Nations treaty, which the country had ratified, protected the sovereignty of Ghana to defend its cultural values.

“Can a Ghanaian go to another country to open such office there; no, it will not be allowed,” he questioned.

“No one can disrespect our law, as far as the president is concerned, the activity here is illegal,” he told host Kwesi Aboagye.
