Akufo-Addo's Gov't Has Created Over 30,000 Jobs For Persons With Disabilities - Former MCE

Former Municipal Chief Executive for Akuapem North and a member of the NPP Communication team, Dennis Miracles Aboagye says President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has created sustainable jobs for over 30,000 persons with disabilities in Ghana.

Dennis Miracles Aboagye made this disclosure on Peace FM's morning show ''Kokrokoo''.

Speaking to sit-in host Nana Yaw Kesseh, he revealed that, under the leadership of President Nana Akufo-Addo and Naa Torshie who is the Administrator of the District Assemblies Common Fund, the persons with physical challenges have gained a good livelihood.

To him, these are some of the good things that need to be highlighted for Ghanaians but not the ongoing election petition by former President John Mahama.

According to him, the election petition is merely to keep the former President and his party, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) relevant because they have nothing else to do in the country.

He appealed to Ghanaians to change their focus, noting that, ''for the first time in the history of this country, under the Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo can we point persons with disabilities who have been financially supported by the government. This is the first time we can guarantee that the money apportioned for persons with disabilities has been utilized'' and stressed ''these are some of the little [little] but big things we don't speak about''.

"When I look at the figures as a former MCE, I can tell you that we have not less than over 30, 000 persons with disability, who between 2017 and 2020, they're fully gainfully engaged in businesses; self-sustaining businesses through the support of the Persons with Disability Fund under the leadership of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo," he stated.

Dennis Miracles Aboagye has directed the physically-challenged persons to visit their district assemblies or the Social Welfare Department and register their names for them to also benefit from the fund.
