The former Municipal Chief Executive for Akuapem North and a leading Communicator for the government has jumped forcefully to the Defence of the embattled Hawa Koomson and asked everyone to cut her some slack.

Providing some statistics and data from her performance at the ministry of Special Development initiatives, he asked all critics to appraise Hawa Koomson on her performance from her previous role and not her ability to define terminologies off-head and speak fluent English.

He writes:

Below are excerpts of her performance at the Ministry of Special Development Initiatives.

4 years ago, not the commander in chief in the English Language, not a superstar in articulation and eloquence. She was given a ministerial role by H.E Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo at a ministry that had never existed in this country, No Blueprint, No template, and yet she delivered on her mandate as you have it in the details below.

Let’s cut her some slack, leadership, and management goes beyond English reading, English writing, and English speaking. In fact, we have seen people with multiple PHDs perform abysmally in leadership roles in this country, likewise, have we seen illiterates, unlettered people give a 5-star performance in leadership roles in this country.

Some of the top Businessmen in this country are unlettered and never received a formal education, some of them speak little or no English language.

How on earth should your ability to define terminology in a particular field off head at an interview or vetting be a determinant of your ability to deliver or not.

How many Medical doctors, lawyers, journalists, marketing professionals like myself can even define some of the basic terminologies (off head) in our professions and yet we deliver in our fields every day. How many Medical doctors today do not have big books on their tables and software on their iPads and laptops and will be referencing as they consult in the hospitals.

Fortunately, Hawa Koomson has been there before and that should make her appraisal very easy. But as you appraise her in her previous role, don’t be lazy about it and base it on what you heard from radio commentators on the morning shows. Take the pain and get the facts, that shouldn’t be too difficult, after all, you want to criticize, then you must have the time to do it right otherwise, it remains your opinion and maybe completely an incompetent opinion worst than the person you sought to criticize.

Below is Hawa Koomson as the Minister for Special Development initiative who led the setup and supervision of three (3) Development authorities i.e Middle Belt Development Authority, Coastal Development Authority, and the Northern Development Authority.

Appraise her performance based on the statistics below and use that as a basis to determine her capacity to deliver as Minister for Fisheries or not.

If we want to critique someone's incompetence, then we must do it right. There are indicators and if you sidestep the indicators then you become an incompetent critic with no right to criticize.

The annoying part sef be say, those criticizing the woman self have 75% of the English grammar in their write up on Hawa Koomson wrong 🧐.
