Deputy Communication Director of the ruling NPP, Mame Yaa Aboagye has congratulated the Minister-designate for Fisheries and Aquaculture, Hon. Hawa Koomson after the approval by the plenary of parliament.
This follows the Parliament of Ghana's approval of the minister-nominee by 161 secret ballots in her favour (60.67 percent).
Announcing the results to parliamentarians, Alban Bagbin, the Speaker of Parliament stated: “In respect of Honourable Mavis Hawa Koomson, the same number of qualified voters, the Ayes, 161, the [Nays], 104; the percentage of votes obtained [60.75]. In the circumstances, Honourable Mavis Hawa Koomson is accordingly approved.
Mame Yaa taking to social media congratulates her saying; "Congratulations Hon. Hawa Koomson. I am overly confident that you will deliver on your mandate with excellence that comes with the usual admiration of all Ghanaians. You've proven yourself as one of the hardworking Ministers of President Akufo-Addo's administration and we say Ayekooo."
