Asiedu Nketia’s Testimony Deliberately Taken Out Of Context – Mahama

Former President, John Dramani Mahama has expressed shock at what he describes as the “mutilation of the testimony” given by the NDC’s General Secretary, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah in the Supreme Court ruling.

He contends the testimony of his first witness, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah was taken out of context just to shoot down the petition.

“The ruling I heard today actually makes our witness, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah appear as the star witness for the first and second respondents. Many of his answers in testimony during cross-examination were taken out of context to create the basis for the dismissal of our election petition”, Mr. Mahama said in his post-verdict public address on Thursday, March 4, 2021.

Chief Justice Kwasi Anin-Yeboah while reading the full judgment said General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Aseidu Nketiah who was the first witness of the petitioner was, however, the “star witness” as he aided the trial through his cross-examination.

The Supreme Court also described as “fanciful” the testimonies of Mr Rojo Mettle Nunoo and Dr, Kpessa Whyte who were witnesses of ex-President John Mahama in the 2020 Election petition hearing, saying the least said about their testimonies the better.

However, Mr Mahama in his address to the party folks said the party’s legal team will come out with detailed comments on the Supreme Court ruling at the appropriate time.
