Ghana's Digitization: Don't Waste Time; Do It Now And Quickly - Kwamena Duncan To Gov't

Former Central Regional Minister, Kwamena has appealed to President Nana Akufo-Addo to expedite his efforts to digitize the economy.

The President, in his State of the Nation Address delivered on Tuesday, touched on what his government had done and is doing in the area of digitization.

The President believed digitization of the economy will help improve the living conditions of Ghanaians and also mordenize the country.

"Mr. Speaker, Government, in four years, has recorded a number of significant milestones in our quest to formalise and modernise the Ghanaian economy. We believe it is the fairest and fastest way to achieve our goals. The National Identity Card rollout, the National Digital Property Addressing System, the interoperability of mobile money transactions, the introduction of the paperless operations at the port, e-business registration system, and access to digital financial services are all part of the drive to formalise our economy, and enhance its productivity," the President said in his address.

Kwamena Duncan, reacting to the President's address, emphasized that digitization is the "game changer" for the nation.

He called on the government not to waste time stressing “it is this which must change the course of this country . . . I tell you if we are able to do this and we must do this quickly. We must indeed not waste even any further minute; do this quickly”.

Kwamena Duncan said on Peace FM's flagship programme, "Kokrokoo".
