The famous brown bag made its grand entry into parliament during the presentation of President Akufo-Addo's first budget statement in 2017.

The Finance Minister, Ken Ofori Atta stormed parliament all dressed in white holding the brown bag to present the budget statement.

The brown bag continued to show up at every budget reading and this year was no exception despite the absence of Ken Ofori Atta.

The 2021 budget statement was presented by the Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu since the Finance Minister-designate is seeking medical treatment outside the country for post-Covid-19 related implications. 

The Majority leader obviously didn't want to break tradition, therefore showed up holding the famous brown bag.
