EIU Report: Our Achievements Will Determine Who Wins 2024 Elections - John Boadu

General Secretary of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), John Boadu says the report of the Economic Intelligent Unit (EIU) that the opposition NDC will win the 2024 general election is the mere expectation of the unit as it is basing its analysis on the trend of the election in the country since 1992.

The EIU, in its recent publication, predicted victory for the main opposition NDC in the 2024 elections in their recent report.

“The next Parliamentary and Presidential election are due in 2024, under the constitutionally mandated term limit, Mr Akufo-Addo cannot run for a third term. Mr Mahama is reportedly considering whether to run again, but we are expected the NDC to seek to revitalize its prospects with a fresh candidate.

“After two terms of NPP government, they expect the NDC to win 2024 presidential elections and go again as the small majority in parliament,” the latest report of the firm stated.

Commenting on the EIU report on Okay FM’s 'Ade Akye Abia' Morning Show, the General Secretary of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) pointed out that the report did not name former President John Dramani Mahama as the one to win the 2024 election but rather a fresh Presidential Candidate of the opposition NDC.

“More so, the report says it expects that the NDC will introduce a fresh Presidential Candidate to contest the elections. So the report is not saying that John Mahama will win the 2024 elections but rather they are expecting that the NDC introduces a fresh candidate for the Presidential election . . .” he argued.

He noted that the assumption of the Economic Intelligence Unit (EIU) to predict a win for the NDC in the next general election in 2024 is based on the fact that the government of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) led by President Akufo-Addo will do nothing with the mandate that it has been given till 2024.
