Ramadan: Muslim Group Donates To The Needy

A group of Muslims based in Germany at the weekend donated some assorted items to seven Muslim communities in the Nsawam Adoagyiri Municipality of the Eastern Region to finish up the Ramadan fast.

The group has established a friendship with a number of Muslim communities namely Sabon Zongo, Wangara line, Moshie Zongo, Wala Zongo, Kotokoli lane and Zongo Illiasu, all within the municipality.

The donation which was on the theme; "Eat Less, Feed More" was to help the Muslims especially the less privileged in society who are currently going on with the Ramadan fast to have enough to eat when they break or want to do their fast each day.

Items

The items which included rice, sugar, oil among others were given to individual needy Muslims comprising widows, the aged and persons with disability.

The donation would be extended to cover other Zongo communities in future Ramadan.

Alhaji Iddrisu Salifu who made the donation on behalf of his brother, Alhaji Suliman Wahab, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Tuo Lada Ramadan Food Programme for the Needy, said this year the group served 190 needy persons within the communities.

According to him, the items were to be used for the Ramadan fast, and that the gesture was to show love and kindness to the beneficiaries to enable them to observe the Ramadan fast without any difficulty.

Alhaji Salifu said it was to support the Muslim communities to undertake the fast with ease.

He noted that Ramadan offered a time for spiritual growth for the individual, and it was important that Muslims were able to undertake the fast with some level of comfort.

Gratitude

One of the beneficiaries, Hajia Mariama Mustapha lauded the group for the continued and varied support to the communities, saying the donation came at the right time.
