#FixtheCountry: The Youth's Grievances Are Legitimate; Fix It Or We'll Regret - Kwesi Pratt Tells Gov't

Seasoned Journalist, Kwesi Pratt Jnr. has backed the calls on President Nana Addo to fix the country.

The ''Fix the Country'' campaign has sparked discussions about the performance of the Akufo-Addo government.

The youth in the country have risen against the government over what they say is an escalation of their hardships.

The conveners of the campaign threatened to embark on a demonstration to communicate their grievances to the President but they were stopped by the Police after acquiring a court restraining order prohibiting any protest on the streets.

Addressing the issue during Peace FM's 'Kokrokoo' programme on Tuesday, Kwesi Pratt threw his weight behind the youth stating emphatically "their grievances are legitimate. It's proper and so on".

He cautioned the government to address the youth's concerns because, if ignored, might have dire consequences on the nation.

"We need proper planning in order to ensure that, our country, we will maintain a certain level of stability. If there will be changes, the change shouldn't let us be like Somalia, Egypt, Lybia and so on. Let's have a critical thought about this, so we don't ignite something that will plunge us into a situation that we will all regret. So, the grievances are legitimate. The exercise of democratic rights and so on should be encouraged and so on. What is the end game?", he argued.

He added, "They're generally fed up with the whole political establishment . . . They have noticed that the parties and leaders in Ghana have disappointed the youth and that's the reason for the agitations."
