Nine Allianz Staff Graduate From Ghana Insurance College

Nine staff of Allianz Ghana (Life & Non-Life Insurance) graduated from the National Insurance College with diplomas & certificates in Insurance at the 13th Graduation Ceremony of the College held at the auditorium of the National Insurance Commission on Friday May 7, 2021.

The Allianz graduates are Gideon Ataraire, CEO, Allianz Life Insurance and Michael Mensah, Chief Operations Officer, Allianz Life Insurance.

Others include Sena Kosi, Bancassurance Manager, Ohenewaa Yeboah, Corporate Sales Manager, Norrenda Tetteh-Kwao, Branch Manager, and Wonder Plange, Customer Service, all of Allianz Life Insurance.

Allianz Insurance’s staff also included Ruth Adjei, Manager, Bancassurance, Andy Amuaku, Underwriting Officer and Vanessa Dawson, who is a Customer Experience Intern.

The Director of the Ghana Insurance College, Richard Okyere who gave the state of the College Address, encouraged the graduates to remain competent, willing and up to the task of putting the customer’s interest first. As part of his remarks, Dr. Justice Ofori, Commissioner of Insurance and Chairman of the Governing Council charged the graduates to make professionalism relevant in the industry.

He advised the graduates saying: “The real value of the qualification you receive today lies in how you apply the training you have received.”

The Guest speaker for the occasion Dr. Joyce Aryee, Founder of the Salt & Light Ministries touched on the impact COVID-19 had made on the Industry. She said the crisis caused by the pandemic had accelerated the demand for digital and remote channels and this was expected to continue beyond the crisis.

She added: “We live in an ever-changing world. It’s very important especially for people in the Insurance Industry to let us understand how important it is to ensure our lives so that when the unintended happens, we can be covered and our lives will go back to normal.”

Allianz Life CEO, Gideon Ataraire, received an extra award as the best student in Insurance Principles and Legal Aspects.
Speaking after the ceremony, Gideon spoke on the need to have professional qualifications in whichever field one finds himself or herself in as this gives them even better understanding of their industry as well as credibility.

He added: “It’s very important that everyone working in Insurance takes this step towards broadening their scope of knowledge on the subject. There is always room for improvement for every one of us as learning is a lifelong activity.”
