George Floyd Case: Derek Chauvin Requests Lighter Sentence

Roommates, as we await his June 25th sentencing hearing following his conviction for the murder of George Floyd, currently incarcerated Derek Chauvin has just requested through his attorney to receive a lighter prison sentence in the form of time served or probation. During a recent court hearing, Derek Chauvin made the request to his sentence and also cited that he is the “victim of a broken system.”

Derek Chauvin is attempting to use every maneuver he can in an attempt to be released from prison. Through his attorney Eric Nelson, Chauvin formally asked a Minnesota judge to give him a lighter prison sentence of either a probation term or a much lighter sentence than what is currently suggested by state guidelines.
