NDC Is Not The Better Option To Help Alleviate Economic Hardship - Yaw Buaben Asamoa

Director of Communications for the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Yaw Buaben Asamoa says the largest opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has no justification to go on a demonstration against the Akufo-Addo government for the current economic hardship in the country.

According to him, even though the Akufo-Addo government has not ended the economic hardship in the country, the opposition NDC is not the better option to help alleviate the economic hardship.

Speaking on Okay FM’s 'Ade Akye Abia' Morning Show, the former MP for Adentan Constituency maintained that, the NDC and former President John Dramani Mahama destroyed the robust economy they inherited.

He stressed that the opposition NDC left Ghanaians with hardship in the care of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to manage until the Covid-19 came in to break the economic foundation the current government had started to build.

“We know that the NPP Government has not ended the hardship in the country but when it comes to the alleviation of hardship in the country, it is not the NDC that can help our course . . . it was the NDC and John Dramani Mahama that destroyed the robust economy and left us with hardship, and then came Nana Addo to the rescue of the situation until the Covid-19 came in to break the economic foundation we had started to build,” he stipulated.

Delving into the fight against the Covid-19, the NPP Director of Communication said that the solid leadership exhibited by President Akufo-Addo has made Ghana one of the countries in the world that have successfully managed the pandemic, even though many predicted that the virus would wipe the entire Africa.

“ . . it has become possible for the NDC to embark on a demonstration without any fear of contracting the virus. NDC is no longer afraid to hit on the street to demonstrate due to the effective measures put in place by the Akufo-Addo government to fight the pandemic,” he noted.

Touching on the security issues in the country, Yaw Buaben Asamoa was optimistic that the opposition NDC is living up to their agenda to make the country ungovernable under the leadership of President Akufo-Addo as they plotted in their secret meeting.
