WISCONSIN TESCON President Wins Political Personality Of The Year

The TESCON President of the Wisconsin International University College, Prince Amadu Anuwar-Sadat was adjudged the “Political Personality of the Year” in the just ended Private Universities Students’ Association of Ghana (PUSAG) Excellence Awards at the National Theater.

The president of PUSAG, while giving his welcome address intimated that the event gives them the opportunity to bring together all the Private Tertiary Institutions in the country to celebrate and award most hardworking and deserving students and other stakeholders of their immense contributions and sacrifices towards education in the country.
 
The event attracted a lot of dignitaries, particularlythose in the educational sector who graced the occasion, including but not limited to the former minister of state in charge pf Tertiary Education, Prof. Kwasi Yankah, former Ambassordor and minister of Education and Trade, Dr.EkowSpio-Garbrah and the Member of Parliament for Assn-North and deputy minister of education, Rev.JohnNtim Fordjour amongst others.

The president also used the opportunity to express his immense gratitude to the government in addressing some of their concerns including issues of accreditation and affiliation but suggested for an expansion and grant of equal and unfettered access to the students’ loan scheme and other scholarship packages by private tertiary students in the country.

Speaking at the event, the Member of Parliament for Assin South and Deputy Minister of Education, Rev. John Ntim Fordjour said the role of private tertiary institutions in the country cannot be over emphasized. He reiterated government’s unwavering commitment and resolve in addressing the challenges faced by private tertiary institutions and the students, particularly in the arear of opening more access to the students’ loan scheme. He said, this year alone, the Scholarship Secretariat intends to grant scholarship to about 5,500 students through the District Assembly.

In an interview with peacefmonline.com, the self-effacing and well composed Prince Sadat said “I am indeed humbled and honoured to receive this coveted award. I wish to dedicate this award to all the people in my life whose continuous support and prayers made this happen. A special mention must be made of Dr. Joseph Siaw Agyepong (Executive Chairman of the Jospong Group of Companies; my bosses, Hon. Ken Ofori-Atta (Minister for Finance), Alhaji Abubakar Abdul-Rahman (ALHAJI SHORT), for they have always givenme the room to realize my full potential. Prince A. A. Sadat is a student of the Law Faculty of the Wisconsin International University, College, Ghana offering a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) degree. He is currently a Research Assistant at the Campaign Fund Raising Office of H. E. the President (Number 16) and also a Press & Media Aide to Alhaji Short (former Member of the Council of State). Prince Sadat is also the TESCON President for Wisconsin University and the Chief Justice for the Ghana Union of Professional Students. He has previously worked for corporate giants like Vodafone Ghana, Fidelity Bank Limited, Glico Life Insurance Company Limited; and has over seven (10) years of work experience in corporate Ghana. He has also worked as Personal Assistant to some of the finest politicians in the country. And his contributions towards the 2016 and 2020 victory of the NPP and H. E. Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo cannot be overemphasized.

He is a prolific writer with over 100 publications on social and political issues of national interest to his name; and has received several awards both in the corporate space and in politics as well.

In a related development, Prince A. A. Sadat, also received PUSAG’s “Best Law School” award on behalf of Wisconsin International University College, Ghana.
