Deputy General Secretary of the governing National Democratic Congress and a spokesperson for the Rawlingses, Mr. Kofi Adams, has confirmed media reports that all the delegates that met with the former first lady and aspiring flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) were given GH�30.00 each after the meeting. Speaking in an interview with Suhini Alhassan on Radio Gold, Mr. Kofi Adams explained that majority of the delegates journeyed very far places and so there was the need for Nana Konadu�s campaign team to provide them with food and also foot their transportation bills. Nana Konadu and members of her campaign team met with delegates of the NDC from Ablekuma North, South and Central and Okaikoi North and South at Extima Hotel at Mataheko in Accra, last Monday between the hours of 4 to 7 pm. And according to media reports, each delegate that turned up for the meeting, went home GH� 30.00 richer. Asked how the campaign team raised such an amount of money to pay the delegates, he responded: �Nana Konadu has a lot of people who believe in her ideologies and who are willing to support her in whatever she does. So we get money from people like that�,� he said. The former First Lady's team recently launched a scathing attack on President Mills' campaign team accusing them of bribing delegates with GH�4,000.00. But now it has emerged that both camps are indulged in the practice of dishing out monies to delegates.
