Greedy Bastards, Enemies And Traitors And The Gang Of Four The Unveiling Of The NDC (2)

Let me have men about me that are fat; Sleek-headed men, and such as sleep o nights. Yond Cassius has a lean and hungry look; He thinks too much. Such men are dangerous, Julius Caesar When Nigeria threw away thousands of Ghanaians out of Nigeria, both the Republic of Benin and the Republic of Togo opened their borders for the Ghanaians to pass through their territories. When they got to the Aflao border, Junior Jesus refused to open the borders of the country to them because his regime felt the returning Ghanaians had among them dissidents who were coming home to overthrow his regime. Junior Jesus opened the borders only after he had sent an air and ground security reconnaissance force to the borders, many days after the Ghanaian destitutes had camped in the no-mans land between Togo and Ghana borders without shelter, food and health care. By the time the borders were opened, many innocent Ghanaians including pregnant women, children and the elderly had died. Many of them also lost their lifetime properties. Today, that unwholesome regime has produced another mosquito, a civilian mosquito, albeit with a military title, which this time has become immune to past pest controls which saw the premature dispatch of his ancestors to the graveyard. The old NRC cum SMC I and SMC II regimes which created the PDNC, the forerunner of the NDC, used to honour civilians with military titles. Remember, Dr. Robert Gardner, the former head of the Economic Commission of Africa was honoured with the title of a Colonel in the army. It is this history the Junior Jesus did not take account of when he was lifting persons from the gutters and putting them at the pinnacle of national politics. Years back, riff-raffs who did not know where their next meal tickets were coming from and therefore made virtue out of necessity by hiding their poverty, discontent and hatred for society under socialist pretences are today living the lives of royals. Today, they have accumulated and still continue to accumulate wealth which will see to the royal lifestyle of their ancestors yet unborn. Persons who had never signed pay vouchers before and could never manage themselves found themselves managing the whole nation. Their criminally uncouth behviour included ordering a Ghana Airways plane in flight to Europe to turn back to Accra while flying on the Sahara Desert, regardless of the danger to the passengers on board, the plane, breaching of international flight regulations and the cost to the nation, simply because the plane had left behind a boozing Secretary of State Junior Jesus founded a draconian regime which festered on the fear the regime planted in the people. He created a rainbow coalition of coterie of like-minded bloody thirsty cohort, arch-tribalists, dishonest intellectuals, political prostitutes, economic vampires and social misfits, all of whom found fertile grounds in the new corrupt environment under the umbrella and bound together by lies and greed. Today, God being so good, we are all living witnesses to the real truth being told by NDC official spokespersons, who are confessing like witches and wizards trapped by the fetish priest, that the epicenter of lies has always been at the Ridge residence of the Founder and Supremo of the NDC. Yesterday, he was Junior Jesus, today his Junior Judas to the same satanic fraternity. Yesterday, a Monarch he, today, the subject of the flees. Today, the godfather himself has confessed that the people who helped him to rule this nation over a period of nineteen years with iron fist and held society to ransom and are still in government are greedy bastards. Yesterday, we were told by the same junior Jesus that they were men of integrity and probity. Today, they are a bunch of enemies, traitors and blood thirsty vampires who have constituted themselves into Ghanas version of the Chinese Gang of Four and who are sucking away the nations wealth. Wonders will never cease. The equation is complete. There is one underlying factor behind this tragic comedy. The people who surrounded Junior Jesus needed his charisma and political naivety to survive at one time. Junior Jesus in turn needed the vicious mindset of the people surrounding him to survive at that time. It was a perfect harmonious relationship and it worked while mutual interest continued to converge: greed, lies and immoral and illegal acquisition of wealth. Again, Junior Jesus did not dream of one thing. When he shot onto the political scene, he had a narrow array of acquaintances to fall on to help him succeed. When the time came for him to select a successor, he used the Swedru Declaration to anoint somebody he had cowed into complete submission and who voluntarily declared that he would consult this political godfather of his, 24 hours a day. What he again forgot was that just as he was able to manipulate his anointed successor into complete submission, there were others who were also masters of the game who, once given the chance, could also manipulate that anointed successor and turn him away from the Founder and the political mentor. What is happening in the NDC toady is a lesson in history. Junior Jesus was able to dispatch virtually to their graves or into exile, all those who helped him to turn him from a lean and hungry nobody to a fat looking successful Sumo wrestler. He did this by surrounding himself with people he claimed were men and women of integrity and accountability who in actual fact were greedy bastards, enemies, and traitors. Yesterday, the persons who hailed him Messiah, Junior Jesus, Leader of the Revolution, Founder of the Great Party the Chief Votes Catcher and Custodian of Political Patronage and Largeness today regard him and his wife as a useless handkerchief which must be discarded after outliving its usefulness. A little over two years ago, his anointed son was hailing him and his wife and thanking them for putting the presidency of the nation in his sight. Today, the same anointed son looks on Junior Jesus and his wife as persons possessing the plague. Who must be kept at a safe distance? As somebody who observes events from the touchline, what I found most disconcerting is the role now being played by the Gang of Four ( of course they are more than four in number) who have become turncoats and crossed carpet to the side of the anointed son. These were people who used to be so close to the Junior Jesus and his family to such an extent that they can draw in natural form all the hidden precious assets between the thighs of the Junior Jesus with their eyes completely closed, without much ado. Come July 8 to 10, no matter the outcome of the NDC presidential elections, the single event which is likely to break the hearts of Junior Jesus and his wife will be the betrayal of the Gang of Four. Today, Junior Jesus and the wife are broken persons in spirit. They can never come to terms with that betrayal. In a way, it is a poetic justice if one considers the brutal manner the Junior Jesus used to dispatch his supposed enemies and traitors to their graves. Today, the persons who were treated like mosquitoes and sent out to haunt the enemies of the revolution have developed immunity against the maestro who sheltered them. They have acquired military titles just as their would-be tormentor. Indeed, the NDC is coming home to roost. Allah is slow to anger but His punishment is swift. All those who continue to shout the name of Allah in vain should note. The judgment of Allah is surely at hand. In a decent society, the result of the 2012 elections would have been a foregone conclusion. But ours is a society where people do not have scruples and stomach politics is the order of the day. And whether we like it or not, we have adopted a system of governance where the person sitting on top of the charcoal truck with the confidence of an airline pilot has the same vote as the person sitting on top of a platinum stool. Not that it matters much. After all, ours is a society where intellectuals with professorial and doctoral titles and combined with religious pretences behave no different from the ordinary person not so well endowed. This is a society which portrays the scene on our roads to a first time visitors like a typical environment in a zoo. Can we sincerely say that the Ghanaian voter is discerning? Can we say that our democracy is on course? I have my doubts. Since it is now an established fact that the NDC used political intimidation, state security, vote buying, lies peddling and threats by state security to win elections in the past. These are coming from the deep-throat mouths of the various disenchanted horses of the two NDC competing stables. If the fight to select a presidential candidate among three persons from the same party can turn so bloody and nasty, then may Allah help our souls when the real deal comes on in 2012. The fact that the NDC has its roots in violence and has always been a violent party has never been in doubt. What has become worrying is the uncouth and unsuccessful attempts by the NDC apparatchik, all along, to hide behind the slogan of probity and accountability to portray the party as being more Catholic than the Pope. The NDC has made the work of the Ghanaian voter very easy. But do we have a genuine alternative, or is it a case where any situation under any political party apart from the NDC can no longer be worse than the one under the NDC I? At any rate, do our discerning political observers observe any similarity in the posture of the leadership of the PNDC during its birth and the posture of the current NDC during its worse crisis? What did Julius Caesar say of Cassius? I rest my case.
