Anglican Church Responds To Priest Kissing Students Viral Video At St. Monica's College of Education

The Anglican Church has responded to a viral video of a Priest kissing some female students at the St Monica’s College of Education within the Asante-Mampong Diocese.

According to the statment from the Office of Rt Rev'd Dr. Cyril Kobina Ben-Smith, Archbisop of the Anglican Church and  signed by the Executive Director to the Metropolitan Archbishop of Accra, Venerable Dr. George Dawson-Ahmoah, "the Church is saddended by the news and wish to expressly that, thorough investigation has immediately been instituted into the matter and the action of the said Priest would be dealt with in accordance with the norms  and values of the Anglican Communion where morality is extremely revered in the Church".

"Meanwhile, all efforts are being made to engage the students concerned through counselling sessions to avert any psychological issues that may aries as a result of the viral video,"
the statement added.

Background

Social media users are confused after footage of a Reverend Father kissing three students in Ghana hit online.

In the video, the Reverend Father, whose identity is currently unknown, called and gave each girl a kiss which lasted about 2 seconds on average.

The first two kisses got the congregants screaming with excitement.

However, the third female student before and during the act showed some form of hesitation, but was still kissed by the alleged Anglican Priest in question.

The act occurred at St Monica’s College of Education within the Asante-Mampong Diocese.
