Ex-Ghana Youth Goalie Boateng Wants To Retire In 2014

Ex-Ghana youth international Osei Boateng has confirmed he will quit football by 2014 following a topsy-turvy career. The Liberty Professionals gloves man is quitting the game after failing to establish himself despite been tipped for greatness. The former Asante Kotoko shot-stopper says he will call time on his career in the next three years to focus on other areas in the game. He told Happy FM: I believe I have had my bit of the game and think the next three years will be fine for me to hang my gloves for younger ones, the 30-year-old told Happy FM. However I will not be leaving football entirely as I have other plans. But at the moment I want to concentrate in my last three years of the career and then well take it from there. Boateng has had a bittersweet experience in the game after he was banned for a year in 2002 after been charged for improper conduct in Kotokos Premier League game against defunct Power FC. He was a member of the Ghana Under-17 team which won silver at the 1997 Fifa World Cup in Egypt.
