Corruption Tag: You’re Not A ‘Saint’ – Mame Yaa Aboagye Blasts Mahama

Mame Yaa Aboagye, Deputy Communication Director of the NPP has jabbed former President Mahama for his recent comments in which he accused President Akufo-Addo of corruption.

She stated emphatically that given his abysmal track record, the former President had no moral right to speak on corruption. “Were you able to fight corruption when you were in power? How about the GYEEDA, Sada, Airbus and Bus Branding scandals?”

According to her, it is wrong to tag President Nana Addo and the government as corrupt.

I’m shocked Mr. Mahama is now tagging President Akuffo Addo as corrupt all because he wants to come to power...President Nana Addo is not corrupt and has never been corrupt. No matter how hard you try, you cannot hang the corruption tag around his neck”, she said.

Mame Yaa stressed; “In fact, President Akufo-Addo’s actions and inactions towards the fight against the canker of corruption are unmatched.”

How could someone who has created the Office of the Special Prosecutor with the view to combating the effects of corruption be tagged as a corrupt leader?” she questioned.

She stated further that although former President Mahama was clinging to what he himself had referred to as the short memories of Ghanaians, we will never forget the unprecedented levels of corruption that he presided over as President.
