Take Good Care Of Baba Yara Stadium – Otumfuo To NSA

The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has entreated the National Sports Authority (NSA) to take good care of the newly-renovated Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

The Baba Yara Stadium has been shut since last year for renovation works, and since the stadium was shut by the government, Asante Kotoko and King Faisal had to adopt a new home venue for the just-ended 2020/21 league season.

But the good news is that the two clubs will be returning to the Baba Yara Sports Stadium next season as works on the stadium is almost complete.

This was revealed by the Youth and Sports Minister, Mustapha Ussif when he inspected the progress of works at the stadium on Friday, September 17, 2021.

With football activities returning next season, Otumfuo believes the NSA should fortified efforts to maintain the stadium to last long since the government has spent huge sums of money on the renovations.

“Professor Twumasi is doing well when it comes to sports development and I must commend him but they [NSA] should take good care of the stadium because the government has spent huge sums of money on the renovation works.

“Talk to the headmasters and headmistress at the various schools to instill discipline in the students for them to desist from destroying properties at the stadium because if your team loses today, with proper homework you will win tomorrow.

“Let’s work together in developing sports in the country, the investment shouldn’t be only football but other sporting activities”, Otumfuo said when the Youth and Sports Minister Mustapha Ussif and the Director-General of the National Sports Authority paid a courtesy call on the Asantehene at the Manhyia Palace on Friday, September 17, 2021.
