Presenter O.B Nartey has called for a State burial for the legendary Highlife musician, Nana Ampadu.
Nana Ampadu died at the Legon hospital Tuesday September 28 after taking ill.
His impact however outlives him as he is known to have composed about 800 songs and used his influence to positively transform the lives of young musicians and music lovers directly and indirectly.
His songs are loved by all and sundry.
Nana Ampadu, in his songs, touches on all facets of life which appeal to a wide audience.
Paying homage to the legend, O.B Nartey stressed; ''He has done it all. He has seen it all . . . when you listen to him, apart from he being a musician, he also has some political ambience and, for me, it tells us that this man has moved from a family state to a national asset."
''For the creative industry to celebrate this man to the fullest, we should make sure we make his funeral nationalistic because his contribution to the national music industry or the national economy with respect to music is uncontested . . . Let's celebrate him enough. The least we can do is that we will give him a very befitting burial."
He spoke to Halifax Ansah Addo on Peace FM's "Entertainment Review".
