Accord The President Some Respect – Mame Yaa Aboagye Claps Back At Ablakwa

A Deputy Communications Director of the NPP, Mame Yaa Aboagye, has clapped back at North Tongu NDC Member of Parliament, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa for making fun of President Akufo-Addo at every least opportunity he gets.

She condemned Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, who she says is fond of mocking President Akufo-Addo.

“This attitude does not befit a statement because our values and ethics dispute disrespect to our leaders,” she said.

Okudzeto Ablakwa is said to have mocked President Akufo-Addo’s arrival from the United States describing it as “Nicodemus arrival” in the country after attending the 76th session of the United Nations General Assembly.

After the President’s arrival, Mr. Ablakwa said in an open letter; “Mr. President, many Ghanaians especially NPP supporters and your appointees would have loved to really welcome you back home at the airport in grand style following your much-touted diplomatic exploits in the US, however, you seem to prefer a Nicodemus arrival. It is well established that one of the cardinal advantages of leasing luxury aircraft is that you get to determine your own flight schedule, unlike mere mortals who fly commercial.”

To Mame Yaa Aboagye the President did not return to the country in a 'Nicodemus' way.

“You are a lawmaker, a role model and must at least season your words with salt; give respect to those who respect is due. Your attitude towards President Akufo-Addo looks rude and disrespectful . . . give the president some respect. The date of the President's arrival was known to everyone so why make fuse about this, unless may be you want to trend. After all he is the President and the first gentleman of our land so why hide from coming to his own country, for what reason?”, she condemned the MP.
