Jean Mensa & Bossman Asare Are NPP Footsoldiers Occupying EC Office - Mahama's Aide
Special Aide to former President John Dramani Mahama, Godwin Edudzi Tamakloe claims the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission Jean Mensa and her Deputy Commissioner Dr Bossman Asare are footsoldiers of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).
According to him, it is the game plan of President Akufo-Addo to plant Dr Bossman Asare whose behaviour shows clearly that he is a member of the NPP to do the bidding of the party at the EC office.
Speaking on Okay FM’s 'Ade Akye Abia' Morning Show, lawyer Edudzi Tamakloe accused President Akufo-Addo of strategically positioning NPP footsoldiers at the various independent constitutional bodies so that they reduce their independence to an appendage of the ruling party.
He buttressed his claims with the issue that Dr Bossman Asare went before the subsidiary legislation committee of parliament with CI 127 that provides the schedule, showing how the pink sheet should look like but the final print out pink sheet was contrary to the approved pink sheet by parliament.
He, thus, noted that the printed pink sheets for the 2020 general elections were without a column to identify the number of persons biometrically verified; stressing that it was deliberately done to favour the incumbent.
“We have seen a lot of EC bosses but these ones are like NPP footsoldiers occupying a constitutionally independent body so that they will create a semblance of independence but collaborate with the NPP to undermine our democracy. Let us not encourage this in our country,” he asserted.
He was of the view that there is no fear of God in Dr Bossman Asare to the point of mustering the confidence to organise a press conference to call the bluff of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).
“Some people don’t believe that God even exists to the point of fearing Him because if not so, Dr Bossman Asare will not have the confidence to conduct a press conference and talk. I am happy that Bossman Asare sees himself as a member of the NPP and not an Electoral Commissioner,” he slammed.
