Goalking Award In Danger

If Rumours emanating from the corridors of the Professional League Board (PLB) are anything to go by, then there will be no award for the top marksman in the ongoing Glo Premier League. The PLB is said to be annoyed about the seeming lack of competition in the league in the latter part of the season. The Board is particularly angry about the easy manner in which some players that are in contention for the goal-king title are scoring goals. Sources at the PLB have disclosed to Daily Guide Sports that the board is contemplating suspending the award of the goal-king title this season. Emmanuel Clottey, of uncrowned league champions Berekum Chelsea, and Kotokos predator Nathaniel Asamoah, are the front runners for the goal-king title. At a point in the league, the two intelligent strikers were having 12 goals apiece to their credit. But Clottey increased his tally to 15 goals when he scored a hat trick in is sides shocking 3-4 loss to struggling Berekum Arsenal. Many soccer pundits started reading meanings into Clotteys hat trick against Arsenal immediately after the game. These concerns perhaps have caught the attention of the PLB who therefore wants to suspend the goal-king award to ensure fairness.
