Forget The World Cup! - Dan Kweku Yeboah Tells Black Stars

Head of Sports at the Despite Media Group, Dan Kweku Yeboah says based on the performance of the senior national team, the Black Stars at the on-going 2021 Africa Cup of Nations, Ghana shouldn't bank her hopes on making any giant progress at the World Cup.

To be forewarned is to forearmed, he believes so soccer fans and te citizenry are saved another heartbreak.

He strongly believes the country's national team, the Black Stars, cannot pull any magic in the World Cup.

His response comes after indication by the Head coach of the team, Milovan Rajevac, that he won't resign because he was appointed to send the Black Stars to the World Cup.

The national team was knocked out of the 2021 AFCON after amassing just one point and failed to win a single match  – a negative record in the countries proud history. The 3-2 defeat suffered at the hands of football minnows Comoros on Tuesday night, saw the Black Stars finish fourth in Group C.

Milovan Rajevac, during his post-match interview following the Black Stars' shameful defeat by Comoros Islands, stated that he took over the national team just three months ago and so is not ready to step down till he accomplishes his mission which is to lead the team to a hopeful victory in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

But to Dan Kweku Yeboah, there are no right structures for the team to excel at the World Cup.

''Let's not rely on the World Cup. It will be another heartbreak. Between now and March, there's nothing magical that we can do'', he said during Peace FM's ''Kokrokoo'' Tuesday morning.
